What to expect

What to expect? When you shop for desserts what are the ideal taste, textures you look for? I realized in my baking world I prefer some crispy cookie (sugar cookies, Granny Goodwin cookies, oatmeal) and some soft (chocolate chip, peanut butter). How tall do you like your layer cakes? I like making them tall so tall you need a dinner plate to serve a piece on. How sweet do you like your fruit pies? I like making them with a flaky crust filled lightly sweetened fruit. I believe the fruit should shine not the sugar.
